LEAD (or NO. 1) = 1st player to bowl;  NO.2 = 2nd player to bowl;  NO.3 = 3rd player to bowl;  SKIP (team leader)= last player to bowl

* Note:  If a definite result is required when playing pairs, triples and rinks – and each team has the same number of shots after the required ends have been played an extra end is played.  Skips then toss for Jack placing but the front of the mat must be at least 2 metres from the edge of the green.


* It is customary in friendly matches for the visitors to bowl the Jack on the first end. Thereafter the team winning the end bowls the Jack.
